Peyman
Congregations of Shaare Shamayim, 9768 Verree Road in Bustleton, will host a town hall with David Peyman, representing presidential candidate Donald J. Trump, on Tuesday, Nov. 1, at 7 p.m.
Peyman is senior adviser and national director for Jewish Affairs and Outreach for the Trump-Pence campaign. He will discuss how the election of Trump will affect the Jewish community and all Americans. This free event is open to the public.
Peyman is a former federal prosecutor who served as a California deputy attorney general, and later as senior economic sanctions and policy adviser to United Against Nuclear Iran, a nonpartisan advocacy group founded by U.S. Ambassadors Dennis Ross and Richard Holbrook with former CIA Director Jim Woolsey.
Peyman graduated from Harvard Law School and is fluent in Persian.
“As our community prepares for the presidential election, our Social Action Committee invited representatives of both the Democratic and Republican parties to speak as an educational service,” said Jacques Lurie, executive director of Congregations of Shaare Shamayim. “We were recently honored to have U.S. Sen. Ben Cardin hold a presidential town hall on behalf of Hillary Clinton, and we are equally honored to host David Peyman on Tuesday, Nov. 1, representing Mr. Trump’s campaign. Mr. Peyman will present the Republican point of view and answer questions from the audience.” ••
