The Mayfair Business Association last week began finalizing plans for Sunday’s Mayfair Holmesburg Thanksgiving Parade.
The theme is 40 Years of Memories.
The Gilbert family, of Mayfair Shop N Bag, will be the grand marshals.
The parade will start at noon at Frankford Avenue and Rhawn Street and proceed south on the avenue to Knorr Street.
Elves will collect children’s Christmas letters to deliver to Santa Claus, who will make an appearance at the end of the parade.
Volunteers will receive a voucher for a drink and sandwich at the Grey Lodge Pub after the parade.
Parade organizers are urging people to not spray silly string on costumed marchers.
