Man fatally stabs roommate in Somerton

An argument between roommates led to a fatal stabbing inside a Somerton apartment on Saturday, police say.

Officers were called to a building on the 13000 block of Bustleton Ave. at about 9:47 p.m. They found 43-year-old Khrshed Akrmov inside his apartment suffering from a stab wound of the right side. He was taken to Aria-Jefferson Health’s Torresdale campus in critical but stable condition. His condition took a turn for the worse and led to his death at about 9:30 a.m. Sunday.

Akrmov’s roommate, Victor Kumralov, 58, was also at the apartment when police initially arrived there. Officers identified him as a suspect and arrested him there. He was initially charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault, possessing an instrument of crime and reckless endangerment. He had yet to be charged formally with murder as the Northeast Times went to press. His bail was initially set at $750,000, but would be revoked by statute if he is charged with murder.

Police did not disclose a suspected motive for the argument. ••
