Rep.-elect Solomon introduces his staff at Burholme meeting

The Burholme Community Town Watch and Civic Association last week listened to a proposal to legalize a duplex at 7242 AlgonĀ Ave.

There did not seem to be too much support for the proposal, but the association will speak to neighbors on the block before making a decision. A Zoning Board of Adjustment hearing is scheduled for Dec.Ā 20.

Meanwhile, state Rep.-elect Jared Solomon invited members to attend his Jan. 3 swearing-in ceremony. A bus will leave that morning from Bustleton and MageeĀ avenues.

Solomon also introduced his chief of staff, Andy Dalzell, and other members of his staff. His office is at 7012 Castor Ave., just north of Tyson Avenue. Itā€™s open weekdays from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 4Ā p.m.

The office formerly belonged to Rep. Mark Cohen, whom Solomon beat in the Democratic primary.

Donations for the Toys for Tots program can be dropped off at the Quaker Diner, 7241 Rising Sun Ave., and the district office of City Councilman Brian Oā€™Neill, at 432 RhawnĀ St.

After the meeting, the United Methodist Church of the Redeemer worship team performed Christmas songs as civic group members ate food donated by the QuakerĀ Diner.

The Burholme Community Town Watch and Civic Association will meet on Thursday, Jan. 12, at 7 p.m. at United Methodist Church of the Redeemer, Cottman and Lawndale avenues.Ā ā€¢ā€¢
