Ryan wins mathletes championship

Archbishop Ryan High School last week won the Archdiocese of Philadelphia Varsity Mathletes championship for the 21st time in the last 24 years.

Ryan’s A and B teams swept the top two places among the nine teams, with La Salle third, Pope John Paul II fourth and Archbishop Carroll fifth. The senior co-captains are Jacqueline Burke and Primo Wang. High-scoring seniors include Wang, Reid Chen, Kelin Ji, Jim Qin and Jeremy Ren. The longtime coach is Sister Alice Hess, IHM.

On April 24, Ryan will join other Philadelphia high schools at the city championship meet at George Washington.
