Prep’s Heybach Coach of the Year

Chuck Heybach, a former Cardinal Dougherty High School wrestler and coach who now coaches St. Joseph’s Prep, was named Philadelphia Catholic League Coach of the Year.

Heybach, in his first season at the helm of the Prep program, also won the award in 2004, when he coached at Dougherty.

Heybach led the Prep to a 10–8 record and a berth in the league semifinals. Other highlights included winning the Radnor Holiday Tournament, finishing second at the Unionville Dual Team Tournament and placing fourth at the Wetzel Holiday Tournament.

The Prep had eight wrestlers earn All-Catholics honors and six placewinners at the District 12 Tournament. ••
