The Mayfair Business Association is planning the annual Mayfair May Fair, set for Saturday, May 20.
The day will start with a Fallen Heroes 5K Run and Walk, with registration at 7:30 a.m. at Mayfair Memorial Playground, Rowland Avenue and Vista Street. The run/walk will start at 8:30. This year’s event memorializes police Sgt. Timothy Simpson, who was killed in 2008 when his car was hit by a speeding driver. Pre-registration costs $25. Go to mayfairrun.com
The May Fair will feature a classic car show, and the band Jamison will be among the live music acts. The Insectarium will release monarch butterflies, weather permitting.
Most of the activities will take place along Frankford Avenue, between Cottman Avenue and Sheffield Avenue.
