Uber driver missing; last seen in Holme Circle

Authorities have found the car belonging to a rideshare driver who went missing after dropping off passengers in Northeast Philadelphia on April 11, but the driver was still missing as of Tuesday.

Police found the olive green 2003 Subaru Legacy parked near the base of the Benjamin Franklin Bridge, but there was no sign of Krysten Laib, 45, of Abington. Police in Abington suspect she may have intended to harm herself.

Laib’s last known contact with her family occurred at about 4:45 a.m. on April 11 after she had dropped off some Uber passengers on the 2700 block of Axe Factory Road in Holme Circle. Police have ruled out any involvement of those passengers in Laib’s disappearance. After the trip, Laib exchanged text messages with her mother, who asked why she hadn’t returned home. Laib, a nursing student, replied that she was still driving in the city.

Laib has not answered her cell phone or contacted relatives since then. Call Abington police at 267–536–1100 to report information about her. ••
