The Delaware River City Corporation will present its annual Robert A. Borski Award for Lifetime Achievement to Ron Greller, president of Morris Iron and Steel, during the DRCC’s 2017 Spring Fling fundraiser on Thursday, May 18, at Glen Foerd on the Delaware.
The Spring Fling will coincide with Philadelphia’s Love Your Park Week and feature a keynote address by Shawn McCaney, executive director of the William Penn Foundation.
“Ron Greller has contributed to the growth of DRCC for the past decade, providing leadership and financial support as a member of DRCC’s board of directors,” Borski said. “We’re proud to be able to honor Ron for his support of DRCC and the North Delaware Riverfront Greenway and his commitment to our efforts in building this network of parks and trails that will enhance the quality of life in the community we serve.”
DRCC will present additional awards to Joe Slabinski of Slabinski Funeral Home for Outstanding Service, to Franklin Towne Charter High School for Community Organization of the Year and Nance Kerns of Friends of Pennypack Park for Volunteerism.
Funds raised by the 2017 Spring Fling will support the DRCC’s work to maintain and enhance the North Delaware Riverfront Greenway and develop programming to attract visitors. ••
