One of the attackers was described as 18 to 20 years old, black, 6 feet tall and 180 pounds with hair cropped short on the sides and puffy on top.
A pack of teenagers jumped a 54-year-old man and stole his SUV moments after he emerged from a Frankford Avenue bar last Saturday night, police say.
The victim told a local TV news reporter that he went to Pub 36 at Frankford and Sheffield Avenue that evening to watch his cousin’s band perform. At about 11:20 p.m., the victim left the bar and approached a nearby Wawa store where about a dozen teenagers approached him. One of the suspects spoke to the victim, police said, but the victim didn’t understand what was said. The same teen then punched the victim in the mouth, knocking him to the ground.
As other teens assaulted the man, he saw that someone had started his 2005 Ford Escape. The man jumped onto the hood but fell off as the car thief sped away, police said. The victim suffered cuts to his mouth and his dentures were broken.
The missing vehicle is black with a Pennsylvania tag HWP1560. The first attacker was described as 18 to 20 years old, black, 6 feet tall and 180 pounds with hair cropped short on the sides and puffy on top. Police have no descriptions of the other assailants. ••
