Two masked robbers, one with a gun and another with a knife, roughed up a convenience store clerk in Lawncrest early Monday before raiding the cash register and fleeing.

Police have released surveillance video in hope of identifying the bandits.

It happened at about 12:50 a.m. at 7-Eleven, 5800 Rising Sun Ave. As the robbers entered the store, they immediately knocked the 29-year-old clerk to the floor and dragged him behind the sales counter while demanding money, police said. The employee complied.

While one of the robbers raided the cash register, the other forced the clerk into a rear office and bound him there.

The robbers fled in an unknown direction with an undisclosed amount of cash. The gunman was described as white, with a white mask, black hoodie, dark gloves, tan Timberland boots and blue jeans. The other suspect was described as black with a dark mask, gray hoodie, light-colored gloves and dark jeans. He carried a knife.
