The day will include the Mayfair Fallen Heroes 5K Run and Walk, a classic car show, live music, a beer garden, crafters, food and more.
The Mayfair Fallen Heroes 5K Run and Walk and Mayfair May Fair will take place on Saturday, May 20.
Registration for the run/walk will begin at 7:30 a.m. at Mayfair Memorial Playground, Rowland Avenue and Vista Street.
The run will kick off at 8:30, followed shortly by the walkers. The route will travel along Frankford Avenue and around Abraham Lincoln High School.
The run/walk will be held in memory of police Sgt. Timothy Simpson, who was killed in 2008 when his car was hit by a speeding driver.
Proceeds will benefit Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 5’s survivors fund, with a portion dedicated to Mayfair Memorial Playground.

As for the May Fair, it will go from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the general area of Frankford and Cottman avenues.
The day will include a classic car show, live music by Jamison Celtic Rock, a Grey Lodge Pub beer garden, 15th Police District Advisory Council information tables, crafters, food, sidewalk sales, a monarch butterfly release and milkweed planting, military vehicles and Philly Pretzel Factory customer appreciation day activities.
The May Fair, rained out last year, will take place rain or shine this year. ••
