A convenience store robber made off with two shipping boxes of cigarettes after threatening to shoot a 20-year-old woman clerk in Wissinoming on Sunday night.
The episode appeared to last less than 20 seconds, but surveillance cameras recorded the whole thing. It happened at about 11 p.m. at Wawa, 6001 Harbison Ave.
The robber entered the store, walked past a couple of patrons and circled behind the sales counter, where the employee was waiting on a customer. She told the intruder he wasn’t allowed behind the counter, but he stated he had a gun and threatened to shoot her, police said. The clerk did not see a gun.
After picking up two boxes, each containing various cartons of cigarettes, the robber walked out the front door and eastbound on the 6000 block of Walker Street. He was described as 35 to 45 years old, 5 feet 8 inches tall, thin, with a green jacket over a blue hoodie, gray winter cap and dark pants.
