A shooting in Frankford late Monday morning left a Northwood man dead and police trying to identify his killer.

A shooting in Frankford late Monday morning left a Northwood man dead and police trying to identify his killer.

Police were called to the corner of Bridge and Oakland streets at about 11:19 a.m. after someone called 911 to report gunshots. The officers found Kenyon Childs, 27, of the 5300 block of Castor Ave., lying in the intersection with multiple wounds of the head and torso. Paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene.

A motive for the slaying is not known. The shooter was described as black, wearing a black hoodie and black pants. He was last seen fleeing in an alley at the rear of the 5300 block of Oakland Street. Call 215–686-TIPS or text to PPD TIP to report information. ••
