A man allegedly hid in the bushes outside his ex-girlfriend’s house to wait for her and her new boyfriend to exit.
A jilted lover turned to a gun to settle the score with his ex’s new boyfriend on a Northwood street on Sunday night, leaving a 48-year-old man in a hospital with numerous wounds, according to police.
The gunfire erupted at about 11:18 p.m. on the 1000 block of Harrison Street. The victim told police he was leaving his girlfriend’s house and approaching his car when a man leapt from some bushes and opened fire at him. The victim suffered two wounds of the face, two of the left forearm and one of the right forearm.
The shooter hopped behind the wheel of a white BMW and fled northbound toward Wakeling Street. Police did not disclose his identity. The girlfriend drove the victim to Aria-Jefferson Health’s Frankford hospital campus. ••
