Police Officers Dennis Clair and Mark Mazzoni were recognized by the 8th Police District Advisory Council on July 6 as Officers of the Month.
In late May, Clair and Mazzoni solved a rash of car break-ins and other crimes affecting citizens of Philadelphia and its Northeast suburbs.
On May 24, the officers went to the Northeast Family YMCA, 11088 Knights Road, to investigate a car break-in. They obtained surveillance video that showed a man breaking into a car. The suspect was white with a red Phillies cap and a white GMC pickup truck. The officers recognized him as the same man who was wanted on warrants from the city, Bensalem Township and Middletown Township, Bucks County.
Over the next several days, Clair and Mazzoni tracked several leads on his location. On May 31, they found the suspect’s truck in the Motel 6 parking lot at 11580 Roosevelt Blvd. They arrested the suspect, who was charged with theft from auto in the city, as well as forgery and larceny from autos in Bucks and Montgomery counties. ••
