Boyle honored by Jobs with Justice

U.S. Rep. Brendan Boyle received the Solidarity Award from former Jobs with Justice executive director Gwen Snyder.

U.S. Rep. Brendan Boyle (D-13th dist.) was honored last week by the Philadelphia Jobs with Justice organization at its Solidarity Awards Dinner at AFSCME District 1199c, in Center City.

Philadelphia Jobs with Justice is a coalition of labor unions and student, community and faith groups united in fighting for the rights of all working people.

“I am honored to be recognized by Philadelphia Jobs with Justice,” Boyle said. “Advancing workers’ rights and fighting for fair wages are among my top priorities in Congress. America is a forward-looking nation built by workers of all colors, crafts and creeds. These workers literally built our nation. It is our duty to defend the rights of those workers and protect their fair shot at a prosperous future.”

“The Solidarity Awards are our way of celebrating the people who have been indispensable to the fight for economic justice over the last year.

“Congressman Boyle has been tireless in his pursuit of an economy that works for everyone, and we are so proud to be honoring him,” said Philadelphia Jobs with Justice executive director Devan Spear.

Other honorees were the state ACLU and representatives of Put People First PA, the Philadelphia Coalition of Labor Union Women and AFSCME National Union of Hospital and Health Care Employees District 1199c. ••
