A high-speed Amtrak Acela train struck and killed a woman who had wandered onto the tracks at Holmesburg Station on Friday afternoon.

Amtrak reported train 2155 was traveling southbound between Metropark, N.J., and 30th Street Station at about 12:10 p.m. when the train struck the woman. There were 161 passengers on board, but no injuries reported.

As Amtrak police investigated the scene, passengers were transferred to a different southbound train to continue their journey. The 2155 is an express service between New York and Washington with five stops between.
