Tara Macy and Victoria Shemaria were honored for their commitment and selflessness.
A perfect pair: Cancer Treatment Centers of America nurses Tara Macy and Victoria Shemaria were recently recognized with DAISY Awards for Extraordinary Nurses after being nominated for their commitment and selflessness, both professionally and personally. Macy, who works in ICU, made a stuffed animal out of pillows, tape and colorful markers for a patient who was anxious on an overnight stay. Shemaria, who also works in the ICU, put together gift bags for patients and their families and went door-to-door handing them out on Christmas. The DAISY Foundation presents the awards in honor of the “exceptional and super-human work nurses do for patients and families every day.”
