The unidentified prowler has targeted at least eight Northeast businesses since late June.
Police detectives are trying to identify a burglar who has broken into at least eight Far Northeast businesses since late June by climbing onto their rooftops.
Investigators obtained surveillance video of the suspect during a break-in attempt on Aug. 2 at Wacky’s Pizza, 10002 Verree Road. The cameras recorded the man as his walked around the building at about 2:30 a.m. When an employee arrived for work the next morning, he found that someone had tried to enter the business through a rooftop HVAC exhaust fan.
The burglar was described as white with a light-colored hoodie, shorts and dark backpack.
Police suspect that the same burglar struck in similar fashion at Nikki’s Check Cashing, 9961 Bustleton Ave., on June 28; Dunkin’ Donuts, 1619 Grant Ave., on June 28; Man Sun Fish Market, 4322 Megargee St., on July 21; Ambassador Center, 10101 Verree Road, on July 24; Original Village Pizza, 10006 Sandmeyer Lane, on July 27; Benny the Bum’s, 9991 Bustleton Ave., on Aug. 2; and Metro PCS, 9983 Bustleton Ave., on Aug. 2.
