Congratulations to these Northeast scholars!

Several local students were among the more than 900 undergraduates who were named to Susquehanna University’s dean’s list. Local members of the dean’s list include Thomas Haughey, an early childhood education major in the class of 2018. A 2014 graduate of Archbishop Ryan High School, he is the son of Tom Haughey and Lisa Bucher. Gabrielle Nirenberchik, a psychology major in the class of 2018, is also on the list. A 2014 graduate of Northeast High School, she is the daughter of Roman and Rita Nirenberchik. Gabriela Draganova, a business administration major in the class of 2020, is on the list. A 2016 graduate of George Washington High School, she is the daughter of Dimitar and Ekaterina Draganova.

A total of 398 Mansfield University students have been named to the dean’s list. To be named to the dean’s list, a student must attend the university full-time and earn at least a 3.5 GPA. Area students who earned the honor were Willie Scott and Shyonna Williams.

About 1,920 students made the dean’s list for academic achievement at Coastal Carolina University. Local dean’s list students are Devon Ewert (marketing major), Erin Golden (management) and James Queen (economics).

Lehigh University congratulates Angel Chen and David Tapia for being named to the dean’s list. This status is granted to students who earned a scholastic average of 3.6 or better while carrying at least 12 hours of regularly graded courses.

Five local residents were among more than 800 earning bachelor’s and associate’s degrees at the University of Scranton’s undergraduate commencement at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Wilkes-Barre. Local residents earning undergraduate degrees were Noelle C. Niessen (biology), Madeline Chiardio (occupational therapy), Natalia Kucharska (exercise science), Michelle Tyas (exercise science) and Joseph R. Ruskowski (marketing).

Simone Avratiner (pharmaceutical and healthcare studies), Juliette Reinsel (cum laude, pharmaceutical and healthcare studies), Stephy Johnson (cum laude, pharmaceutical and healthcare studies), Tommy Giang (pharmaceutical and healthcare studies), Richie Chan (cum laude, pharmaceutical and healthcare studies), Ina Pajo (pharmaceutical and healthcare studies), Jeffy Mathew (summa cum laude, health science), Andria Dang (pharmaceutical and healthcare studies), Jeffrey Laov (summa cum laude, pharmaceutical and healthcare studies), Ada Shehu (cum laude, pharmaceutical and healthcare studies) and Zoya Kakar (pharmaceutical and healthcare studies).

Annia Zhao, a veterinary technology major, was named to the dean’s list at Mount Ida College in Massachusetts for achieving a GPA of 3.33 or higher.

Kaitlyn Murray graduated from Lycoming College with a degree in criminal justice. She was one of more than 250 graduates at the college’s 169th annual commencement ceremony.

Rosemont College recently celebrated its 94th commencement. Among the 234 graduates was Imani Wall-Wright, who earned a degree in business, with a concentration in leadership and ethics. She thanks her parents, Deborah Wright and Larry Wall.

Jocelyn Serembus received a degree in communication and information sciences from the University of Alabama.

Erich Holtzer a senior engineering major, was named to the dean’s list at Elizabethtown College. ••
