The first 9/11 memorial stair climb will be hosted at Lincoln Financial Field on Saturday, Sept. 23.

The event will honor Fire Department of New York firefighters, New York Police Department and Port Authority Police Department officers and EMS workers who gave their lives so that others could live on Sept. 11, 2001.

Each participant will pay tribute to an officer by climbing or walking the equivalent of the 110 stories of the World Trade Center.

Proceeds of the event will help the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation create and maintain programs that support fire service survivors. It will also benefit the FDNY Counseling Service Unit, and helps covers costs for FDNY families to attend Memorial Weekend.

Registration is limited to 500. Registration costs $35 beforehand, and $40 the day of the event.

Anyone is welcome to participate. Participants will receive an event T-shirt and an honor badge.
