Parks along Delaware River will host variety of fall events

Delaware River City Corp. will offer many community events this fall at parks along the Delaware River.

Each Thursday, Lardner’s Point Park at 5202 Levick St. (next to the base of the Tacony-Palmyra Bridge) will offer volunteering opportunities from 9 a.m. to noon. Activities will include gardening, trail maintenance, shoreline restoration, cleanups and more.

Boats, Beans and Beers will pop up at Pleasant Hill Park, Linden and North Delaware avenues, on Saturday, Sept. 23, from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., featuring a guided kayaking tour on the river from Pleasant Hill south to Pennypack on the Delaware Park, where there will be a free coffee tasting. After the return trip to Pleasant Hill, boaters will cap the day with refreshments at a nearby pub. Registration is required.
