State Sen. Christine Tartaglione last week held a Senior Expo at Fox Chase Recreation Center. There were 60 public and private agencies and service providers, including Rite Aid, which gave out flu shots. The state Pharmaceutical Assistance Contract for the Elderly program helped low-income seniors apply for prescription coverage. An investigator from state Attorney General Josh Shapiro’s office instructed visitors how to protect themselves from consumer fraud and scams. Temple University Health System and its neighborhood affiliate, Jeanes Hospital, offered information about preventative, acute and emergency care.

“This is really the fun part of my job, getting to see everyone’s smiling faces,” the senator said. “They bring a lot of joy to me. I only hope they benefit from the resources we’ve tried to share with them.” ••
