Bustleton Avenue Sears to close

The store will close its doors in early April.

Sears announced last week that it would be closing 39 stores, including the one at 7300 Bustleton Ave.

The Bustleton Avenue store will close its doors in early April. Sears also announced the closing of 64 Kmart stores.

Liquidation sales will begin soon.

Eligible employees will receive severance and the opportunity to apply for open positions at stores that will be staying open.

The company issued a statement that read, in part, “We will continue to close some unprofitable stores as we transform our business model so that our physical store footprint and our digital capabilities match the needs and preferences of our members.” ••
