Northeast residents celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. Day by helping their neighbors in need.

Helping hands: Residents at Paul’s Run (above) spent Martin Luther King Jr. Day preparing food and snack bags for two different causes. They made sandwiches that were donated to St. Francis Inn, a soup kitchen for the homeless located in Kensington. St. Anselm Grade School CYO and St. Anselm High School CYO spent Martin Luther King Jr. Day making various casseroles for St. John’s Hospice. They prepared bags of toiletries and wrote cards to be donated as well. JOHN COLE/ TIMES PHOTOS
