The school was locked down after a fatal shooting took place in the parking lot outside.
A 32-year-old man lost his life after a fatal shooting took place just outside Lincoln High School while a basketball game took place.
Police were called to the area around 3:51 p.m. on Jan. 31 in response to a large fight and gunshots fired. Police believe a mix of adults and students were involved in the incident that took place in the school’s parking lot at Ryan Avenue and Rowland Avenue at the south end of the school.
A basketball game was taking place inside the school while the fight happened. The school was placed on lockdown at 3:55 p.m., which lasted for about an hour.
A black man was shot twice in his right leg and was transported to Nazareth Hospital before being moved to Temple University Hospital. He was declared dead at 8:40 p.m.
Police say the fight was big and they found several casings in the school parking lot.
Police are still investigating.
