Opioid event Thursday at Holy Family

Holy Family University’s Graduate Criminal Justice program and the School of Arts and Sciences will bring together 200 law enforcement, criminal justice practitioners, public safety officials and elected officials to participate in an all-day training and information-sharing event about the opioid crisis on Thursday, March 8, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Education and Technology Center auditorium.

Retired New Jersey State Police Superintendent Col. Rick Fuentes and NJSP Administrative Analyst Shelly Lowe will provide the keynote presentation, titled “Opiate Crisis: Professional and Personal Experiences.”

Pennsylvania Attorney General Josh Shapiro and state Rep. Gene DiGirolamo will offer opening remarks.

Other speakers include Jeremiah Daley, executive director of Mid-Atlantic HIDTA; Fred Harran, Bensalem director of public safety; Maj. Robert A. McLucas, administrative branch commander, New Castle County (Delaware) Police Department; and John Becker, of the Livengrin Foundation.

The symposium is free but space is limited.
