The grand opening ceremony will feature free food for the first 100 guests.
The Halal Guys fast-casual restaurant is continuing its Philadelphia-area expansion, opening its third location at 2550 Grant Avenue on Saturday, March 24.
American Halal food is a melting pot of Middle Eastern and Mediterranean flavors.
“Before I became a franchisee, I was a longtime customer of The Halal Guys food and the loyalty that the brand represents,” said Grant Avenue owner Naveen Mohiuddin. “The quality of the service and food is known throughout the country, which has helped both the King of Prussia and Chinatown locations to become widely successful over the last two years. As a Philadelphia native, I am excited to bring another restaurant to the area.”
The restaurant’s menu offers a mix of Middle Eastern-style chicken, beef and vegetable dishes served with lettuce and tomatoes over rice in platters and as foiled-wrapped pita sandwiches. With white sauce and hot and barbecue sauce drizzled over its food, all of The Halal Guys dishes (with the exception of the vegetarian options) feature high-quality and responsibly sourced meat. The fresh chicken is marinated and seasoned overnight, cooked and chopped on the grill and then served hot from the grill. The beef is sliced on vertical broilers and then chopped and grilled. Dishes can be topped with onions, jalapenos, olives and green peppers and served with sides of fries, hummus, baba ghanouj or tahini.
Doors open on Grant Avenue at 11 a.m. on March 24, with the first 100 guests in line receiving free platters. The next 100 guests will receive The Halal Guys swag. Everyone who visits the restaurant can enter to win either a 50-inch television or tickets for two to an upcoming 76ers game. Daily hours will be 11 a.m.to 11 p.m., seven days a week. ••
