Man strikes employee, robs store at gunpoint

Police released video of a man robbing a China Garden at gunpoint on March 20.

Police are seeking the public’s help in identifying a man who robbed the China Garden located at 8011 Bustleton Ave.

On March 20 at 9:30 p.m., police responded to a call to the restaurant. Surveillance video shows the man entering the store and brandishing a gun before jumping over the counter and demanding money.

Employees told police that after receiving money from the register, the man demanded more. When an employee told him they didn’t have any more, the suspect struck the employee in the head with the gun, causing severe lacerations.

The offender then fled south on Bustleton Avenue toward Rhawn Street.
