The Northeast Times highlights two furry friends who are looking for their forever homes.

Smurf needs a new best friend

Smurf is a 1-year-old German Shepherd mix looking for an active family.

He is dog- and kid-friendly, but a little too playful for small children. He’s also house- and crate-trained. He walks great on a leash.

Smurf is living in foster care.

Eli is ready for a purr-fect home

Eli is the little brother to four siblings. He is in the care of Northeast Animal Rescue and loves to play with his foster friends. Head rubs are his favorite.

Eli, 7 months old, is neutered and current on vaccinations, and has tested negative for the feline leukemia and immunodeficiency viruses.
