Two men were arrested last week in relation to the badly decomposed body.
Police discovered a “badly decomposed” body when they were called to Pennypack Park on May 23.
At 6:29 p.m., 8th District police responded to a call of a possible dead body near the event stage in the woods. The body was discovered with the assistance of a K9 cadaver dog inside of the park off of the Welsh Road and Rowland Avenue entrance.
The body, an unidentified white male, was transported to the Medical Examiner’s Office to determine the cause of death. Investigation is still ongoing with the Homicide Unit.
On May 24 Eric Klotz, 38, of the 2900 block of Rawle Street was arrested and charged with murder, tampering evidence, abuse of corpse and other charges. Harley Mason, 24, from the 3700 block of Aster Court, was arrested and charged with tampering with evidence, obstructing justice, abuse of corpse and additional charges. ••
