Pet benefit to be held on Sunday

World of Animals Veterinary Hospital, 3258 Knights Road in Bensalem, will host a fundraiser for Red Paw Emergency Relief Team on Sunday, June 3, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will be music, food, games, canine demonstrations, pet-friendly vendors and rescue organizations with dogs and cats to adopt. Art and butterflies on display this Friday

The Mayfair Arts Initiative is sponsoring Art on the Avenue on Friday, June 1, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Philadelphia Insectarium and Butterfly Pavilion, 8046 Frankford Ave. The public is invited. Admission is free.

The evening will include music, refreshments and butterflies. The event is open to kids and adults. ••

Holy Innocents Church plans trip to AC

Holy Innocents Catholic Church is organizing a casino trip for Wednesday, Aug. 15. A bus will depart from L Street and Hunting Park Avenue at 9:30 a.m. A Mass will be celebrated at noon at Atlantic City’s Boardwalk Hall, followed by a procession to a blessing of the sea. A carnival-like reception at St. Michael Church will follow.

The trip includes a $25 slots package at Tropicana Casino. The bus will depart the casino at 5 p.m.

The cost is $30, and money is due by Aug. 6.

Cannstatter’s party on Sunday

Cannstatter’s, 9130 Academy Road, will host a pre-summer bash on Sunday, June 3, from noon to 4 p.m.

Admission is free. The afternoon will feature more than 50 vendors and crafters, music, food, beer, gifts for sale and a company that will buy gold, silver and platinum items. ••

Deadline is Friday to buy coupon book

The deadline is Friday, June 1, to buy a Boy Scout Troop 174 camp card. The cost is $5, and includes more than $100 in coupons.

The proceeds are split between helping youths attend summer camp and enabling the Cradle of Liberty Council to support activities. Call 267–679–1034 or email [email protected] ••

Open house at Settlement Music School

Settlement Music School’s Kardon-Northeast Branch, 3745 Clarendon Ave. (at Knights Road), will host its annual spring open house on Saturday, June 2, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

There will be a selection of student performances, drop-in classes, open studios and family activities. Prospective students will get to try out instruments, talk to teachers about music instruction, participate in demonstrations and sign up for summer camps and fall lessons. Danube Swabian sponsoring 2 events

Danube Swabian Association, 1277 Southampton Road, will host a free outdoor concert featuring No Irish Need Apply on Friday, June 1, at 7 p.m. Food and refreshments will be available for purchase starting at 6 p.m. Danube will sponsor a German Mass on Sunday, June 3, at 11 a.m. at the Sisters of the Holy Redeemer Chapel, 521 Moredon Road, Huntingdon Valley.

Broadway show at Shaare Shamayim

Teen chat room at NE Regional

Shawna’s House Teen Chat Room is a teen mentoring network for boys and girls ages 13 to 18.

The Friends of Overington Park will hold its third annual flea market on Saturday, June 2, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. along the 1300 block of Orthodox St.

Shredding event Saturday in Parkwood

State Sen. John Sabatina Jr. will host a free shredding event on Saturday, June 2, from 9 a.m. to noon outside his district office in the Parkwood Shopping Center, 12361 Academy Road.

Events will benefit Fox Chase Cancer Center

The Marlyn Fein Chapter, Fox Chase Cancer Center is running an afternoon of painting with a purpose at Painting With a Twist, 998 2nd Street Pike, Richboro, on Saturday, June 2, from 2 to 4 p.m. The cost is $35 per person. Snacks and refreshments will be provided, but BYOB. Call 267–304–6396.

The group is running a bus trip to Resorts Atlantic City on Wednesday, June 20. The cost is $35 per person, which includes the bus, show and $10 back in slot dollars. The group is holding a clothing drive on Saturday, June 23, from 9 a.m. to noon. The location is 510 Township Drive in Cheltenham. Bring gently worn clothes, accessories, books, small trinkets placed in bags or boxed for pickup.
