Lincoln celebrates 65th reunion

35 classmates from the class of 1953 gathered with memorabilia to celebrate their 65th reunion.

Abraham Lincoln High School’s classes of January and June 1953 recently celebrated their 65th reunion at the Wyndham hotel in Trevose.

The classmates were from the third and fourth graduating classes at Lincoln.

Thirty-five classmates and their spouses, including one from California and another from South Carolina, attended the luncheon, with the room decorated in the school colors of black and gold.

Classmates brought memorabilia, such as yearbooks, photos of sporting events and the building of the original school (showing the cornerstone in 1949), newspaper clippings, programs and invitations to senior proms and graduation ceremonies.

The grads enjoyed a DVD presentation of their junior trip to Washington, D.C., sporting events from 1953, dances in the community room and the junior proms. They also sung the alma mater.

Reunion planners Norma (Lockwood) Turner, Joan (Utzy) Lott and Ron Turner have decided to have another gathering in two years. ••
