Crime Log: June 11 – 24

As reported by Northeast Detectives. Does not include homicides, sexual assaults, narcotics offenses or other specific crimes investigated by special police units. All locations listed by block, not by exact address.

2nd Police District

There were nine robberies, most of which took place on the street. These happened at 6200 Tabor Ave. involving a handgun (June 13), 400 Comly St. involving a shotgun (June 11), 7200 Oxford Ave. (June 22), 6000 Rising Sun Ave. (June 19), twice at 1200 Hale St. (June 23) and 900 Scattergood St. (June 23). There were also two robberies of private residences at 1400 Higbee St. (June 12) and 1100 McKinley St. (June 16).

There were 15 aggravated assaults. Youry Joseph, 27, was arrested June 17 following an assault involving a handgun at a private residence at 400 Alcott St., and Leonard Chavarria, 33, was arrested June 22 following an assault at a private residence at 1000 Unruh Ave. Don Georges, 22, was arrested June 21 after an assault involving a handgun at 1100 Levick St. Other assaults took place on the street at 7000 Roosevelt Blvd. (June 17), twice at 6700 Castor Ave. involving a knife (June 24), 6200 Trotter St. (June 19), Oxford and Hasbrook avenues (June 20), 800 Adams Ave. (June 22), 4600 Roosevelt Blvd. (June 20) and 7100 Lynford St. (June 17). There were also assaults at private residences at 800 Foulkrod St. (June 12), 400 Alcott St. (June 17) and twice at 5400 Bingham St. (June 21), and an apartment house at 6100 Alma St. (June 17).

There were 16 burglaries, many of which targeted churches. These churches are located at 6300 Oakley St. (June 15), 500 Levick St. (June 16), 500 E. Godfrey Ave. (June 18), 6400 Loretto Ave. (June 17) and 6700 Roosevelt Blvd. (June 18). Others burglarized private residences and apartment houses at 1900 Faunce St. (June 11), 6500 Montour St. (June 13), 1700 Loney St. (June 18), 700 Kerper St. (June 18), 6500 Rising Sun Ave. (June 15), 600 Robbins St. (June 17), 1000 Stevens Terrace (June 20), 7600 Whitaker Ave. (June 22), 700 Magee Ave. (June 22) and 7600 Leonard St. (June 18). A public school at 1100 Devereaux Ave. was targeted June 16.

There were 78 thefts, which targeted 34 vehicles (including two stolen vehicle tags), 29 businesses, seven street thefts, three bicycles, two nursing homes, one private residence, one apartment house and one public housing site. Nine arrests were made. In addition, 15 vehicles were reported stolen, eight of which have been recovered.

7th District Police

The three robberies took place on the street at 8000 Roosevelt Blvd. (June 19), at an apartment house at 13000 Bustleton Ave. (June 13) and at a grocery store mini market at 1900 Welsh Road (June 24).

Davis Dwight, 25, was arrested June 16 following an aggravated domestic assault on the street at 8000 Roosevelt Blvd. The only other assault took place at an unspecified location at 10100 Jamison Ave. on June 21.

There were eight burglaries, most of which targeted private residences or apartment houses. These took place at 10700 Haldeman Ave. (June 12), 2100 Tremont St. (June 18), 800 Hendrix St. (June 17), 8500 Bustleton Ave. (June 18), 9100 Old Newtown Road (June 13) and 1900 Rhawn St. (June 18). Eric Flanders, 23, and Randy Glober, 22, were arrested June 20 following a burglary at a gas station at 9900 Roosevelt Blvd. There was also a burglary at an unspecified location at 100 Geiger Road June 13.

There were 27 thefts, which targeted 15 vehicles (including one stolen vehicle tag), four apartment houses, three street thefts, three businesses, an office building and a commercial garage. In addition, six vehicles were reported stolen, one of which was recovered.

8th Police District

The only robbery took place on the street at 3300 Red Lion Road June 16 and involved a handgun.

There were four aggravated assaults, which yielded two arrests. Lori Godshall, 54, was arrested June 20 following an assault on the street of 4500 Pennypack St. on June 20. Joseph Abruzzo, 56, was arrested June 11 following a domestic assault at a private residence at 3500 Chalfont Drive. The other assaults took place at an apartment house at 4200 Woodhaven Road on June 19 involving a knife, and a gang assault at a prison facility at 8300 State Road June 20.

There were 10 burglaries, most of which targeted private residences or apartment houses. These took place at 4100 Stanwood St. (June 13), 8100 Terry St. (June 20), 3500 Solly Ave. (June 23), 3500 Nottingham Lane (June 16), 3200 Brookdale Road (June 22), 9200 Exeter Road (June 12), 12400 Sweet Briar Place (June 13) and 3300 Byberry Road (June 14). An athletic field or playground at 9500 Leon St. was burglarized June 11, and a chain store at 100 Franklin Mills Road was burglarized June 19.

There were 44 thefts, which targeted 22 businesses, 15 vehicles (including two stolen vehicle tags), two parking lots, two bicycles, a private residence, a purse snatching and a college or university. Seven arrests were made. In addition, eight vehicles were reported stolen, six of which have been recovered.

15th Police District

There were 21 robberies, almost all of which took place on the street. These were located at 4300 Factory St. (June 11), 4200 Marple St. (June 14), Torresdale Avenue and Comly Street (June 19), 7100 Roosevelt Blvd. (June 24), 4000 Higbee St. (June 24), 6600 Erdrick St. (June 23), 7200 Vandike St. (June 11, Erikka Carrasquillo, 29, arrested), 4000 Robbins St. (June 21), 6100 Torresdale Ave. (June 21), 4600 Sheffield St. (June 11, Kane Richardson, 23, and Jennifer Settle, 38, arrested), 5400 Oxford Ave. (June 11), 6100 Gillespie St. (June 11), 1100 Orthodox St. (June 12), 5200 Frankford Ave. (June 12, Shafic Fletcher, 24, arrested), 4800 Oakland St. (June 12, Kyiese Sneller, 18, arrested), Hawthorne and Barnett streets (June 15), 1600 Wakeling St. (June 20), 4300 Richmond St. (June 12) and 5200 Oakland St. (June 14). A gas station at 7400 Frankford Ave. was burglarized June 20, and a private residence at 900 Fillmore St. was burglarized June 24.

There were 33 aggravated assaults, which saw the arrests of 15 people. Some took place on the street at 1600 Haworth St., 4700 Tackawanna St., 4800 Frankford Ave., 4700 Griscom St. (Jalil Abduloahad, 20, and Paul Shanchez, 20), 5000 Frankford Ave., three times at 6700 Frankford Ave. (Robert Bickel, 33), 4200 Tackawanna St., 4800 Frankford Ave., Penn and Harrison streets (June 17), 2800 Sellers St. (Shawn Howell, 19), 4300 Penn St., 4100 Gilham St., 4600 Hartel Ave., 4900 Disston St. (Gary McKeen, 32), Cheltenham Avenue and Erdrick Street (Branden Cohen, 24), 4700 Ashville St., 5200 Roosevelt Blvd. and 4700 Marple St. (Margie McLaughlin, 52). Assaults at private residences took place at 6300 Keystone St. (Charlie Crutchfield, 21), 1600 Wakeling St., 1500 Foulkrod St., 1300 Harrison St., 1300 Arrott St. (Valerie Thompson, 54), 4600 Leiper St. (Alyce Libertoni, 46), again at 4600 Leiper St., 4500 Vista St., 1600 Granite St. (Basima Smith, 29) and 4600 Naples St. (Rachel Colon, 40). The rest took place at apartment houses at 4900 Frankford Ave. (Jermaine Brown, 40) and 5200 Cottage St. and a food store at 4700 Oxford Ave.

There were 24 burglaries, most of which targeted private residences or apartment houses. These happened at 1600 Wakeling St. (June 13, Kenneth Winters, 45), 5200 Hawthorne St. (June 17), 2100 Robbins St. (June 24), 5700 Frankford Ave., (June 19), 6100 Ditman St. (June 16), 4500 Bleigh Ave. (June 20), 4000 Roosevelt Blvd. (June 21), 2600 Croydon St. (June 23, John Volpe, 36), 900 Allengrove St. (June 24), 1300 Adams Ave. (June 16), 6500 Vandike St. (June 18), 5700 Cottage St. (June 14), 2300 Orthodox St. (June 19) and 5200 Glenloch St. (June 15). They also took place on the street at 6000 Keystone St. (June 12) and 4600 Large St. (June 18, Reginald Vaughan Gonzales, 61), a shelter at 1500 Foulkrod St. (June 17), a public school at 4400 Longshore Ave. (June 20), a bar or cafe at 5200 Frankford Ave. (June 11), on the street at 6200 Harbison Ave. (June 11) and an unspecified location at 4600 Large St. Eric Flanders, 23, and Randy Glober, 22, were arrested after burglaries at an office building and auto dealer at 7700 Frankford Ave. and a restaurant at 6600 Frankford Ave.

There were 82 thefts, which targeted 31 vehicles (including five stolen vehicle tags), 21 businesses, 18 street thefts, nine private residences, an apartment house, a purse snatching and an unspecified location. Ten arrests were made. In addition, 42 vehicles were reported stolen, 26 of which have been recovered. ••
