Orleans Technical College, JEVS Human Services’ career training school, recently announced a new partnership with Associated Builders and Contractors, Eastern Pennsylvania Chapter. ABC Inc. will become Orleans’ apprenticeship training partner in Philadelphia County.

The partnership promises to create more apprenticeships and diversify the workforce, while providing employers the chance to enhance employees’ skills at the National Center for Construction Education and Research.

Orleans Tech prepares apprentices for career paths in electrical, carpentry, HVAC and plumbing.

“We are honored to join with Associated Builders and Contractors in developing the skills base of the construction trades workforce,” said John Colborn, chief operating officer at JEVS Human Services.

“With over 40 years of partnership with construction and trades companies, Orleans Tech looks to the future in growing its educational offerings to support 21st-century construction skills and apprenticeship opportunities.”

ABC has provided formal apprenticeship training programs that are registered with the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry’s Office of Apprenticeship since 1967. Upon successful completion, apprentices are recognized at the journey level in their trade and are awarded their journey-worker certificate. ••
