Video: Serial robber targets multiple Northeast locations

The man is believed to have committed at least nine robberies at knifepoint across the city, including in Rhawnhurst, Oxford Circle, Lawncrest and Tacony.

Police are looking for a serial robber who targeted commercial establishments around the city from July 21 to Aug. 2. Each robbery involved a knife. Five of the nine robberies took place in the Northeast.

Police were able to obtain security footage of the man and believe he is driving in a 2010 silver Honda Sonata.

On July 23 at 6:25 p.m., he entered the Little Caesars Pizza at 2060 Cottman Ave. He walked behind the counter and pulled out a knife, demanding money. He fled empty handed after the employee was unable to open the register.

An hour later, 7:25 p.m. on the same day, he entered the McDonald’s at 5498 Oxford Ave. He waited for the crowd to diminish then went behind the counter and removed money from the register while holding a knife.

Police obtained footage of his getaway car, a 2010 silver Honda Sonata, on Aug. 2. It had temporary (paper) tags.

The third Northeast robbery happened July 25 at 4 p.m. at the Metro PCS at 721 Adams Ave. He again went behind the counter and pulled money out of the register while holding a knife.

On July 27 at 7:50 p.m., he entered the Dunkin’ Donuts at 7221 Torresdale Ave. and produced his knife behind the counter, demanding money. This time he left without claiming anything.

The most recent Northeast robbery took place Aug. 1. at 6:35 p.m. at the Little Caesars at 7107 Torresdale Ave. He went behind the counter with a knife and demanded a female employee open the register, claiming an unknown amount and fleeing.

Other robberies took place in Stenton, Harrowgate and Cedarbrook. He robbed Cricket Wireless, Little Caesars, Metro PCS and Boost Mobile locations in these areas.

Police have released suspect descriptions after seven of the robberies. They indicate the robber is a black man in his early or mid-20s, standing approximately 6 feet to 6 feet 2 inches tall. Three descriptions include facial hair, saying he has a scraggly beard or a goatee.

He is seen wearing a gray or white baseball cap in all security footage. He often wears a dark hooded sweatshirt over a T-shirt and shoes that are black in the middle and white on the sides.
