Crime Log: Aug. 6 – 19

The Northeast Times provides an overview of crimes reported to the four police districts in the Northeast. The details are based on reports compiled by the Northeast Detectives division of the Philadelphia Police Department.

As reported by Northeast Detectives. Does not include homicides, sexual assaults, narcotics offenses or other specific crimes investigated by special police units. All locations listed by block, not by exact address.

2nd Police District

There were eight robberies in the area that yielded two arrests. Tyreek Talib-Bey, 24, was arrested Aug. 15 following a robbery on the street at 1400 Tyson Ave. Ebony Tyler, 35, was arrested Aug. 9 following a robbery at a private residence at 5900 Palmetto St. Two robberies happened at a bank at 2200 Cottman Ave, both on Aug. 13. The first happened at noon and involved a knife. The second happened at 2 p.m. and involved a handgun. Other robberies took place on the street at 500 E. Cheltenham Ave. (Aug. 17) and 4800 Fillmore Terrace (Aug. 6), a bar at 2300 Cottman Ave. (Aug. 11) and a mini market at 6600 Rising Sun Ave. (Aug. 18).

There were six aggravated assaults that resulted in four arrests. Three happened on the street at 6600 Souder St. (Aug. 15), Rising Sun and Adams avenues (Aug. 8, Talenia Cargill, 33) and 1400 Devereaux Ave. (Aug. 16, Devon Bailey, 25). Others took place at private residences at 600 Brill St. (Aug. 7, Calvin Hayes, 44) and 7200 Rutland St. (Aug. 6, Stephany Salva Saez, 28) and an apartment house at 7700 Bustleton Ave. (Aug. 17).

There were eight burglaries, which mostly targeted private residences and restaurants. The private residences are located at 1500 Stevens St. (Aug. 11), 1400 Friendship St. (Aug. 8), 6100 Alma St. (Aug. 18) and 1200 Bleigh Ave. (Aug. 18). The restaurants are located at 900 Cottman Ave. (Aug. 12), 4600 Roosevelt Blvd. (Aug. 12) and 7300 Oxford Ave. (Aug. 12). An office building at 6300 Castor Ave. was burglarized Aug. 18.

There were 71 thefts, which targeted 33 vehicles (including a stolen vehicle tag), 23 businesses, nine street thefts, three bicycles and three private residences. Six arrests were made. In addition, 12 vehicles were reported stolen, nine of which have been recovered.

7th Police District

There was just one robbery. Ricky Baker, 29, was arrested Aug. 17 following a robbery at a gas station the previous day that involved a handgun.

There were six aggravated assaults, most of which took place at private residences or apartment houses. Assaults at private residences took place at 800 Arnold St. (Aug. 9) and twice at 8100 Castor Ave. (Aug. 11), which resulted in the arrest of Gulraiz Amer, 44. Assaults at private residences took place at 900 Emerson St. (Aug. 11) and 9400 Roosevelt Blvd. (Aug. 6), which resulted in the arrest of Anthony O’Connor, 29. Edward and Sarianne Neafsey, both 40, were arrested Aug. 15 and 18, respectively, following an assault on the street at 9000 Roosevelt Blvd. on Aug. 15

There were six burglaries. Three targeted private residences at 8900 Rising Sun Ave. (Aug. 14), 8500 Agusta St. (Aug. 13) and 1700 Tustin Ave. (Aug. 10). Others took place at an apartment house at 2100 Tremont Ave. (Aug. 9), on the street at 200 Geiger Road (Aug. 14) and an unspecified location at 9900 President St.

There were 27 thefts, which targeted 15 vehicles (including two stolen vehicle tags), three street thefts, three businesses, two apartment houses, two bicycles, a hotel and a private residence.

8th Police District

There were three robberies. Ricky Baker, 29, was arrested following two robberies at gas stations at 10000 Frankford Ave. (Aug. 14) and 9900 Frankford Ave. (Aug. 15). The third robbery occurred at an unspecified location at 1100 Franklin Mills Circle (Aug. 8).

There were five aggravated assaults that resulted in four arrests. These took place at private residences at 12200 Sweet Briar Road (Aug. 7, Robert Bogan, 40) and 9900 S. Canterbury Road (Aug. 11, Anthony Caruso, 21), an apartment house at 2600 Tremont St. involving a knife (Angel Imbrenda, 24), a shopping mall at 1455 Franklin Mills Circle (Aug. 17, Edward McCullough, 51) and on the street at 2500 Ashwood St. (Aug. 15).

There were 10 burglaries, many of which targeted apartment houses and private residences. The burglaries at apartment houses took place at 9400 Woodbridge Road (Aug. 7), 9300 Ashton Road (Aug. 12), 2800 Walnut Hill St. (Aug. 13) and 2600 Tremont St. (Aug. 8). The private residences were located at 10900 Knights Road (Aug. 14), 3600 E. Crown Ave. (Aug. 6, Daniel Gallagher, 27) and 4600 Barry Road (Aug. 14). The rest took place at a retail store at 1400 Franklin Mills Circle (Aug. 6), a restaurant at Rhawn Street and Roosevelt Boulevard (Aug. 6) and a building under construction at 2700 Southampton Road (Aug. 9).

There were 69 thefts, which targeted 30 vehicles (including a stolen vehicle tag), 25 businesses, five street thefts, three bicycles, two hospitals, two apartment houses, a private residence and a parking lot or garage. Seven arrests were made. In addition, four vehicles were stolen, one of which was recovered.

15th Police District

There were 16 robberies, most of which took place on the street. These took place at 5000 Penn St. (Aug. 6), 5300 Rutland St. (Aug. 8, Marquis Riggins, 19), 4700 Griscom St. (Aug. 9), 6900 Sackett St. (Aug. 14), 2000 Herbert St. (Aug. 15), 3300 Ryan Ave. (Aug. 15), 4400 Elizabeth St. (Aug. 16) and 4800 Frankford Ave. (Aug. 6), all of which involved handguns; 1200 Horrocks St. (Aug. 10) with a knife; Oxford Avenue and Margaret Street (Aug. 16, Casey Bell, 25 and Christian Crews, 24), 1600 Bridge St. (Aug. 7, Isaiah Young, 27), 4600 Wellington St. (Aug. 17) and a cargo robbery at 6300 Frankford Ave. (Aug. 16). The rest took place at private residences at 2100 Haworth St. (Aug. 8, Nicholas Deinarowicz, 39), 3000 Unruh Ave. (Aug. 9, Yanna Thorn, 28) and 7200 Revere St. (Aug. 8).

There were 20 aggravated assaults. Most took place on the street at 4100 Frankford Ave. (Aug. 12), 4700 Benner St. (Aug. 13), 6300 Keystone St. (Aug. 16, Nigel Reece, 37), 1300 Akron St. (Aug. 7), 1700 Bridge St. (Aug. 8), Harbison and Frankford avenues (Aug. 17), 1600 Church St. (Aug. 17), 3100 Stirling St. (Aug. 15), 7100 Frankford Ave. (Aug. 16), 4500 Castor Ave. (Aug. 16, Rafeal Jorgil, 44), 4500 Howell St. (Aug. 19), 4500 Gaul St. (Aug. 6), 5800 Roosevelt Blvd. (Aug. 13, John Tran, 24), 2600 Bridge St. (Aug. 11, Jose Martinez, 23) and 4600 Paul St. (Aug. 17, Dehaven L. Brown, 26). Others took place at private residences at 4900 Charles St. (Aug. 9), 5300 Lesher St. (Aug. 7), 5200 Burton St. (Aug. 8, Shawna Miller, 26) and 300 Disston St. (Aug. 8), and a police station at 1100 Adams Ave. (Aug. 17, Destiny Watson, 18).

There were 28 burglaries, which yielded 13 arrests. Most took place at private residences at 1600 Comly St. (Aug. 6, Francis Mooney, 36), 4200 Devereaux Ave. (Aug. 12), 4900 Unruh Ave. (Aug. 16), 5900 Torresdale Ave. (Aug. 11), 4400 Salmon St. (Aug. 17, Jason Clair, 20), 3500 Bleigh Ave. (Aug. 7), 3200 Magee Ave. (Aug. 9, David Sasse, 42), 2900 Hale St. (Aug. 15), 7000 Torresdale Ave. (Aug. 18, Joseph Gibision, 22), 2000 Carver St. (Aug. 19), 6700 Cottage St. (Aug. 15), 4700 Unruh Ave. (Aug. 15, Patrick Atcherson, 26), 6100 Erdrick St. (Aug. 17) and 3100 Longshore Ave. (Aug. 19). Don Dott, 42, was arrested following five robberies of private residences at 6600 Tulip St. (Aug. 17 and 18), 4800 Unruh Ave. (Aug. 18), 6600 Tulip St. (Aug. 18) and 4900 Knorr St. (Aug. 17). Others took place at apartment houses at 4200 Frankford Ave. (Aug. 17) and 4700 Longshore Ave. (Aug. 10, Jose Gonzalez, 42), public housing at 4800 Princeton Ave. (Aug. 19), a drug store at 6500 Frankford Ave. (Aug. 6), a chain retail store at 2500 Church St. (Aug. 6), the street at 2500 Orthodox St. (Aug. 11, Joseph Miller, 32) and 3500 Cottman Ave. (Aug. 10), and two unspecified locations at 2300 Lewis St. (Aug. 13, Mark William, 35) and 4000 Orchard St. (Aug. 15).

There were 98 thefts, which targeted 43 vehicles (including eight stolen vehicle tags), 20 street thefts, 17 businesses, eight private residences, five bicycles, a church, a hospital and three unspecified locations. Nine arrests were made. In addition, 36 vehicles were reported stolen, 25 of which have been recovered. One arrest was made. ••
