The Northeast Times would like to congratulate the following college graduates, students who were named to their school’s dean’s list, and area residents who recently received special honors.

Daniel Pfeiffer, who majors in mechanical engineering at Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, New Jersey, recently spoke at a Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia fundraiser. Pfeiffer, who has had several surgeries at CHOP, was a member of the National Honor Society at Pennsylvania Virtual Charter School.

Daniel Petrosky and other first-year doctor of medicine students received the first symbol of their new profession as Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine held its 10th annual White Coat Ceremony for the Class of 2022 on Aug. 3 in Scranton. Students recited an oath acknowledging their responsibilities as future physicians and their obligations to future patients.

The University at Albany-SUNY congratulates Nino Niniashvili, who graduated Summa Cum Laude with a degree in criminal justice.

Erik Rispo was among the 43 University of Scranton students inducted into the Institute of Management Accountants Honor Society. This organization recognizes students for academic achievement in the study of accounting who major in accounting, finance or information technology, have achieved junior status or higher in their undergraduate studies, have taken three or more accounting courses, and have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher overall as well as in their accounting courses, among other criteria. Rispo is a senior at the Jesuit university.

Nicolette Michalowski graduated from Hofstra University, earning a bachelor of business administration in marketing.

Jasmine Parker was one of more than 160 students who received degrees during commencement ceremonies at Green Mountain College (Vermont).

More than 1,500 students recently graduated from Bloomsburg University. Local graduates were Allyson Alemany, Christopher Cartledge, Jamie Davis, Veronica Dejesus, Eunique Fortune, Alexis Freer, William Fuller, Nicole Haselbarth, Giovanni Hernandez, Tierra Johnson, Robert Kilpatrick, Kenneth McCallum II, Tyneshia McNeil, Samantha Montoya, Brendan Morales, Emily Payne, Maurice Robinson, Mary Shustack, Amanda Simone, Rebecca Slutsky, Sabrina Sparks, Kristine Wagner and Tanisha Webster.

Keara Healy (small animal science degree) and Krystin Schulke (criminal justice) graduated from Delaware Valley University.

Maternity BVM graduates Michael Knuttel, James Ryan and Gianna Boyle have each earned the Josephine C. Connelly Achievement Award. Michael, James and Gianna will receive four-year scholarships to the archdiocesan high school of their choice. Both boys are going to Father Judge High School, while Ginna will spend her next four years at Little Flower. Michael, James and Gianna attended BVM since preschool.

CORA Services recently conducted Dr. Seuss-themed elementary and middle school art contests. The winners of the contest were fourth-grader Isabella Baptiste, from St. Anselm, and fifth-grader Sasha Laventure, from Resurrection of Our Lord. ••
