Police search for suspect in bank robbery on Cottman Ave.

The man is wanted for robbing the PNC Bank at 2200 Cottman Ave. on Aug. 29.

The FBI/Philadelphia Police Department Violent Crimes Task Force is seeking the public’s assistance to identify and locate the man responsible for the Aug. 29 robbery of the PNC Bank branch located at 2200 Cottman Ave.

At about 3 p.m., the man entered the bank, approached the counter and presented a threatening demand note to a teller. He fled after obtaining an undisclosed amount of cash.

The suspect is a black male in his early to mid-30s, about 5 feet 9, with a medium to thick build, dark complexion and a beard. He was wearing a navy T-shirt, gray sweatpants, white sneakers, dark sunglasses and a navy and red Atlanta Braves cap over a black do-rag.

This man is considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information about this robbery or the suspect is urged to call the task force at 215–418–4000.

A reward is being offered for information leading to the man’s capture. Tipsters can remain anonymous. ••
