A 2018 Recovery Concert will raise money toward getting those in recovery the care they need.
The 2018 Recovery Concert, presented by Clean & Sober Radio and the Leigh Leckerman Scholarship Fund, will take place on Saturday, Sept. 15, at the University of the Arts Gershman Building, 401 S. Broad St.
All proceeds will go toward helping those in recovery get into treatment facilities or recovery houses. A similar concert was hosted last year that raised about $30,000, which went toward helping about 25 people.
There will be a performance by In the Pocket, a rock band started by David Uosikkinen of The Hooters. The event will also feature a silent auction, gift basket giveaway and 50/50 raffle.
Clean and Sober Radio is hosted by Gary Hendler and delivers the message that help is out there. It features music and interviews with people in recovery.
The Leigh Leckerman Scholarship Fund was started after Denise Leckerman lost her stepdaughter 15 years ago when she was killed by a drunken driver. She and her husband Steve started the fund to help people afford the care they need.
