19-year-old killed in Frankford shooting

Police have released surveillance footage of the suspect in Tuesday’s fatal shooting.

Philadelphia police are looking for the gunman who shot and killed a 19-year-old in Frankford on Tuesday.

The shooting happened approximately 5:55 p.m. on Tuesday in front of a takeout restaurant on the 4200 block of Frankford Avenue. The suspect pulled a handgun from his waistband and shot the victim several times.

Police say the suspect exited a newer model dark-colored Dodge Journey with tinted windows and an unknown Pennsylvania license plate just before the shooting. The vehicle followed him after the shooting when he fled west on Church Street and south on Griscom Street.

The victim was taken to a nearby hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Police describe the suspect as a black male with a stocky build. He was wearing a green hooded jacket with a light pattern on the front, black jeans, black and brown sneakers and a canvas belt.
