Holmesburg business group hears how to save on energy bill

The Greater Holmesburg Business Association heard from PECO and the Insectarium and discussed plans for an upcoming First Saturday.

The Greater Holmesburg Business Association met last week, welcoming PECO Energy’s Mary Hall to discuss how small businesses can save money on their electric bills.

PECO offers a complimentary on-site analysis and proposal on upgrades; incentives that could cover 40 percent to 60 percent of the cost; interest-free financing; and a post-installation warranty service.

Hall welcomed small business owners to call 844–424–9728 or visit peco.com/SmallBiz

In other news from the Sept. 30 meeting, business owners are making plans for a First Saturday celebration on Nov. 3. Businesses along Frankford Avenue from Sheffield Avenue to Academy Road are being encouraged to have special offers that day.

Also that day, from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., the Philadelphia Insectarium and Butterfly Pavilion, 8046 Frankford Ave., will host the Philadelphia Oddities Expo.

Adults pay $13. Children are admitted free. There is an extra cost for a taxidermy workshop, owl pellet dissection and insect pinning class.

Guests can explore all three floors of the museum. The event will also feature a flea market, tattoo parlor, game room, food trucks, live entertainment, giveaways, classes and presentations.

For more information, visit here or check out the expo’s pages on Facebook and Instagram.

The Greater Holmesburg Business Association will meet again on Thursday, Oct. 25, at 10 a.m. at the Insectarium and Butterfly Pavilion. ••
