Crime Log: Sept. 17 – 30

As reported by Northeast Detectives. Does not include homicides, sexual assaults, narcotics offenses or other specific crimes investigated by special police units. All locations listed by block, not by exact address.

2nd Police District

There were nine robberies, five of which took place on the street and involved handguns. These happened at 4300 Roosevelt Blvd. (Sept. 18), 1400 Gilham St. (Sept. 19), 1300 Fanshawe St. (Sept. 22), 6800 Castor Ave. (Sept. 29) and the intersection at Horrocks Street and Magee Avenue (Sept. 30). Two private residences were robbed at 2100 Cottman Ave. (Sept. 25) involving a handgun and 1200 McKinley St. (Sept. 28). A chain retail store at 6300 Rising Sun Ave. was robbed with a handgun Sept. 22, and a bank at 2100 Cottman Ave. was robbed Sept. 25.

There were nine aggravated assaults, most of which took place on the street. Stephen Hassey, 44, was arrested following an assault involving a knife at 7200 Castor Ave. on Sept. 25. Courtney Gross, 28, was arrested Sept. 22 following two assaults without weapons at 6100 Rising Sun Ave. Other incidents included three assaults at 900 Bridge St. (Sept. 28), 7300 Roosevelt Blvd. (Sept. 17) and an assault at 7300 Frontenac St. (Sept. 24). A domestic assault occurred at a private residence at 7300 Algon Ave. Sept. 17.

There were seven burglaries. Michael Orr, 24, was arrested following a burglary of a private residence at 900 Longshore Ave. (Sept. 27). Other burglaries happened at private residences at 1300 St. Vincent St. (Sept. 21) and 1200 Stirling St. (Sept. 23), an apartment house at 700 Adams Ave. (Sept. 23), a church at 1100 Hartel Ave. (Sept. 20), a barber shop/beauty salon at 900 Granite St. (Sept. 25) and a retail store at 2300 Cottman Ave. (Sept. 23).

There were 67 thefts, which targeted 41 vehicles (including two stolen vehicle tags), 16 businesses, six street thefts, two private residences, an apartment house and a hotel/motel. One arrest was made. In addition, 13 vehicles were reported stolen, seven of which have been recovered. One arrest was made.

7th Police District

No robberies were reported.

There were five aggravated assaults. Daniel Nikolaenko, 37, was arrested Sept. 28 following two domestic assaults at 13500 Philmont Ave. Two assaults happened on the streets and involved handguns at 1700 Tustin St. (Sept. 25). An assault happened at an apartment house at 9900 Haldeman Ave. Sept. 24.

There were five burglaries, which targeted a commercial garage at 9300 Old Bustleton Ave. (Sept. 28), a state liquor store at 11600 Bustleton Ave. (Sept. 19), on the street, at an athletic field/playground and an unspecified location at 9900 President St. (Sept. 22, 19 and 17, respectively).

There were 33 thefts, which targeted 16 vehicles (including a stolen vehicle tag), 12 businesses, two apartment houses, two street thefts and an unspecified location. Six arrests were made. In addition, 10 vehicles were reported stolen, at least four of which have been recovered. One arrest was made.

8th Police District

There were two robberies, which took place on the street at 9200 State Road (Sept. 30) and 1800 Riverside Drive (Sept. 25).

There were four aggravated assaults. Jose Gonzalez Cruz, 49, was arrested Sept. 17 following a domestic assault at an apartment house at 4200 Woodhaven Road (Sept. 17). Other assaults included a child abuse incident at an apartment house at 1800 Riverside Drive (Sept. 24), an assault on the street at 4600 Primrose Road (Sept. 29) and an assault involving a knife at a prison facility at 8100 State Road (Sept. 19).

There were three burglaries, which took place at an apartment house at 4400 Tolbut St. (Sept. 25) and unspecified locations at 8700 Torresdale Ave. (Sept. 25) and 11600 Caroline Road (Sept. 21).

There were 43 thefts, which targeted 15 vehicles, 15 businesses, four apartment houses, three street thefts, two shopping malls, a public school, a movie theater, a gas station and a hospital. Two arrests were made. In addition, nine vehicles were reported stolen, six of which have been recovered. One arrest was made.

15th Police District

There were 15 robberies, most of which took place on the street. Derrick Crawley, 28, and Andrew Kennedy 27, were arrested Sept. 22 following three robberies involving a handgun at 4200 Cottman Ave., 4200 Torresdale Ave. and 5800 Torresdale Ave. Other robberies on the street took place at 4700 Frankford Ave. (Sept 24) and 1300 Sanger St. (Sept. 27), both of which involved handguns; 5200 Penn St. (Sept. 30), which involved a weapon; and 4600 Frankford Ave. (Sept. 18), 5200 Frankford Ave. (Sept. 19), the intersection of Chippendale Avenue and Walker Street (Sept. 20), 2900 Benner St. (Sept. 28) and the intersection of Charles and Howell streets (Sept. 30). Two vehicles were robbed at 4600 Torresdale Ave. (Sept. 23) with a handgun and the intersection at Roosevelt Boulevard and Summerdale Avenue (Sept. 17). A private residence at 4200 Orchard St. was robbed Sept. 30 and a bank at 6600 Roosevelt Blvd. was robbed Sept. 29.

The 17 aggravated assaults yielded six arrests. Most of the assaults took place on the street, including the intersection at Edmund Street and Longshore Avenue (Sept. 18), the intersection at Frankford Avenue and Wakeling Street (Sept. 23) and the intersection at Revere Street and Cottman Avenue (Sept. 30), all of which involved handguns; 4500 Tudor St. involving a weapon (Sept. 22); and twice at 4700 Frankford Ave. (Sept. 24), 3500 Vista St. (Sept. 27, James Burpee, 54) and 5200 Bleigh Ave. (Sept. 18). Other assaults took place at private residences at 7200 Erdrick St. (Sept. 22, Brenda McHale, 46), 2100 Robbins St. (Sept. 28), twice at 1100 Brill St. (Sept. 27, Fernando Maldonado Baez, 32), 6300 Tulip St. (Sept. 18, Jackie Mason, 30), an assault against police at 2000 Orthodox St. (Sept. 29, Larry Mills, 35) and a child abuse incident at 6600 Torresdale Ave. (Sept. 27, Louis Garcia, 51). Others took place at a hospital at 4900 Frankford Ave. (Sept. 27) involving a knife and a public school at 3000 Ryan Ave. (Sept. 27).

There were 22 burglaries. Luis Rosado, 30, was arrested Sept. 17 following the robbery of a private residence at 6500 Tulip St. Other burglaries targeted private residences at 3000 Hellerman St. (Sept. 21), 4200 Robbins St. (Sept. 26), 2900 McKinley St. (Sept. 17), 5200 Oakland St. (Sept. 18), 4200 Tackawanna St. (Sept. 21), 3400 Hartel Ave. (Sept. 24), 2000 Granite St. (Sept. 27) and 6500 Hegerman St. (Sept. 28). Others happened at apartment houses at 6300 Torresdale Ave. (Sept. 30), 7200 Revere St. (Sept. 20), 4700 Leiper St. (Sept. 24) and 1400 Sellers St. (Sept. 30). The rest took place on the street at 2100 Wakeling St. (Sept. 17), twice at 4400 Frankford Ave. (Sept. 22 and 25) and 4900 Levick St. (Sept. 23), a public school at 4800 Longshore Ave. (Sept. 26), a parking garage at 7900 State Road (Sept. 28), a retail store at 4300 Frankford Ave. (Sept. 29), a church at 4400 Frankford Ave. (Sept. 26) and an unspecified location at 4400 Frankford Ave. (Sept. 24).

There were 87 thefts, which targeted 38 vehicles (including eight stolen vehicle tags), 22 businesses, 17 street thefts, six private residences, two apartment houses and two bicycles. A total of 14 arrests were made. In addition, 37 vehicles were reported stolen, 27 of which have been recovered. Two arrests were made. ••
