Man dies after being shot four times Sunday night in Frankford

Update: A police spokesman on Tuesday told the Times that the man who was shot has since died. Police are witholding his name until his family is notified. No arrests have been made in connection to the fatal shooting as of Tuesday afternoon.

A 31-year-old man was in critical condition Sunday night after being shot four times on the 4600 block of Frankford Ave. in Frankford, according to police.

Police said the man was standing with his girlfriend in front of a Chinese store when he was approached from behind by two black men. One of the suspects, described as heavyset and wearing a black ski mask and black hoodie, shot the victim three times in the leg and once in the abdomen, according to police.

Officers responded to the area around 9 p.m. Sunday and transported the victim to Temple University Hospital, where he was listed in critical condition.

No weapon was recovered at the scene, and no arrests had been made in connection to the shooting as of Monday morning, police said. ••
