Costume street party on Friday
There will be a costume street party on Friday, Oct. 26, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Frankford and Cottman avenues.
The evening will include beer, food, candy, zombies, dancers, music from Real 106.1, face painting and a casket and hearse onsite from McCafferty Funeral Homes.
At 8:45 p.m., Frankford Avenue will be shut down for a Thriller dance.

Wednesday night meeting at Picariello
City Councilman Brian O’Neill invites neighbors to a community meeting to review and provide input to plans for improvements at Picariello Playground, 10811 Calera Road. The meeting will take place on Wednesday, Oct. 24, at 6:30 p.m.

Glen Foerd on the Delaware has teamed with Elkins Park-based improv theater troupe Bright Invention to bring the classic mystery game Clue to life.
Glen Foerd, 5001 Grant Ave., will host four interactive performances of Room with a Clue. The show is for all ages.
Guests will search the mansion and question characters for the information they need to make an accusation and solve the murder.
There will be music and a cash bar.

Day trips scheduled
The Travel with KleinLife series consists of five one-day excursions.

Support Hurricane Florence victims
The American Legion is collecting non-perishable food and new toys to help support active duty soldiers, veterans and their families recover from the flood damage caused by Hurricane Florence.
Bruce Conklin, commander of the William D. Oxley Post in Holmesburg, said, “We’re just trying to help people whose lives have been turned upside down. If we can relieve the burden on families as Christmas approaches and help to create some sense of normalcy, then we will have accomplished our mission.”
