Woman killed after being hit by SEPTA bus

A 65-year-old woman died after being struck in the crosswalk by a bus making a left turn near Frankford Transportation Center.

A 65-year-old woman was killed Monday afternoon after being hit by a SEPTA bus near Frankford Transportation Center, police said.

The woman, whom authorities did not identify, was struck in the crosswalk just before 2 p.m., according to police. She was hit by a Route 5 bus that was turning left onto Pratt Street from Frankford Avenue, police said.

She was pronounced dead by medical personnel at the scene at 2:10 p.m.

Police are investigating the crash, and no charges had been filed as of Tuesday morning. The bus driver was identified as a 39-year-old man. ••
