The Holmesburg Civic Association met briefly last week before breaking for its annual holiday party.
Nobody challenged vice president Cheryl Molle or treasurer Barb Kleschick, so they will remain in their posts.
State Rep. Mike Driscoll was among the guests.
The civic association is conducting a fundraiser to send a neighborhood child or two to summer camp.
Donations can be made here.
The Philadelphia Insectarium and Butterfly Pavilion, 8046 Frankford Ave., will host Kids Bug-U Camp next summer.
There are five sessions: July 15-19, July 22-26, July 29 to Aug. 2, Aug. 5-9 and Aug. 12-16.
The camp runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and there are early and late dropoff and pickup times starting at 8:30 a.m. and ending at 5:30 p.m.
Registration is $300 and includes field trips, arts and crafts, lunch and instruction on caring for animals.
All campers will complete a junior entomologist program that will earn them free access to the museum for a year.
Meanwhile, the Insectarium & Butterfly Pavilion will host a butterfly light festival on Dec. 29 from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. All ages are welcome. The event will feature light sculptures, live music, mural painting, acrobats, butterfly jewelry making, adult beverages and food. Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door.
