State Rep. Martina White, a Republican, was sworn in last week to serve the people of the 170th Legislative District House of Representatives.

White is serving her second full term after winning a special election in 2015.

“I am honored that the people of Northeast Philadelphia have voted to give me another term to continue fighting for the working families of our communities,” White said. “That means fighting for high-quality schools, better-paying jobs and improved public safety.”

In the previous term, White voted for more funding for Pennsylvania schools without raising personal income or sales taxes. She also supported protections for police officers and held city officials responsible for what she calls “their reckless sanctuary city policies.”

In the new session, White will monitor state spending of taxpayer dollars. ••
