KYW (1060 AM) will honor The Block Gives Back tonight at its GameChangers awards ceremony at The Met Philadelphia, 858 N. Broad St.
The nonprofit Block Gives Back focuses on, among other things, neighborhood cleanups, anti-violence programs and homeless support.
In all, 10 individuals and organizations will be recognized.
Last night, The Block Gives Back prepared pasta and salad at its headquarters, Carmella Playground, 2100 Wakeling St. in Frankford. Members and volunteers traveled to the underground SEPTA station near 16th Street and JFK Boulevard to feed dozens of homeless people. Hot chocolate and water were also on the menu. ••
